SIGHT SEEING
Nepal has many different things to offer for sightseeing. The natural beauty and Himalayan views, the culture and traditions, the historical monument, art and architecture, Hindu temples and Buddhist stupa and monasteries, its people and rites, myths and mysteries which are a part of the daily life of the people of Nepal. Kathmandu is the first arrival point for most visitors. Mountains surround the valley and it is divided into the three major cities of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur.
Around Kathmandu Valley
Kathmandu’s most impressive sight, Durbar Square, is crowded with ancient temples and palaces reflecting the religious and cultural life of the people. It is also home to Kathmandu’s Kumari, or ‘living goddess’, a young girl believed to be a reincarnation of the goddess Durga.

Pashupatinath
Situated 5 km east of Kathmandu, the temple of Lord Shiva. It is Top Hindu temple of the world. Although only Hindus are allowed inside the temple, visitors can clearly see the temple and the activities performed in the temple premises from the eastern bank of the Bagmati River.

Swayambhunath
Swayambhunath is one of the most ancient Stupas in the Kathmandu vally.It lies on the top of the hill in west of the valley. From here one can enjoy a spectacular view of Kathmandu City. Legend says that ancient times the valley was a lake and it was known as the serpent's lake. Saint Manjushree cut the southern part of the valley and drained the water out. The Swayambhu was the first exit and became most important pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists.



Boudhanath
One of the world's largest stupa of its kind. The unique aspect of this great Buddhist monument is that it is set in the octagonal mandala design. Also set into the riches around this huge structure are the hundreds of prayer wheels and the 108 images of the Buddha adoring the Stupa. Another notable aspect of the area is the presence of about four dozen monasteries around it.

Bhaktapur Durbar Squar
The main square of the City contains innumerable temples and other architectural showpieces. The lion gate, the statue of the King Bhupatindra Malla,the National Art Gallery The palace of 55 Windows and the bell of the barking dogs are  few  of the sights to visit in the square.




Patan Durbar Squar
It is situated in the heart of the City .The square is full of ancient temples palaces and shrines noted for their exquisite carvings.The square consists of three main chowks(courtyards).The central Mul Chowk Sundari Chowk and Keshav Narayan Chowk.The Sundari Chowk holds in its center a masterpiece of stone architecture, the Royal bath Tushahity.

Changunarayan Temple
This temple is situated on a scenic hill top 20km from Kathmandi and 7 km from Bhaktapur. The temple is decorated with magnificent art works made of metal and woodcarvings. This is the finest example of Nepalese pagoda architecture. We can find the oldest record of the history here, dating to the 4th century. Its history dates back to the Lichhavi period when the Lichhavi king Manadeva installed pillars in 464 AD.






Nagarkot
Nagarkot is a popular place to see the mountain ranges and sunrise. It lies at an altitude of 2175m and it is 32 km north east of Kathmandu. It is the nearest place to see the panoramic views from Kathmandu valley. Close up mountains are from Nagarkot Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Dorje lakpa, Sishapangma, Gauri shanker and more. Many tourists go to Nagarkot and stay over night to enjoy the scenic beauty of the countryside.

Kirtipur

Tansen
Tansen lies 1310m above sea level, at the southern slope of Mahabharat range. It lies on the way from Pokhara to Sunauli and is known as the Siddhartha highway. Tansen city itself is very colorful with its old houses and slopes landscapes. There are different types of people-Magar, Brahmin,Chhetri, Newar, have been living in the city.I t is popular for its metal crafts and Dhaka cloth,shawls and caps. Place to visit in Tansen- Shrinagar hill Amarnarayan temple and Tansen Durbar etc.

Daman
Daman is an interesting place to see mountains. One can see whole mountain range of 400km from Dhaulagiri to Mt.Everest. Daman lies 2323m above the sea level. It is 85km away south West from Kathmandu and It also one of the most spectacular mountain-bike routes in the world. People in the winter visit Daman to play with snow.goto top

Pokhara

Pokhara is the second major tourist destination in Nepal. It is 200km west of Kathmandu. Standing at 884m above the sea level, Pokhara offers a mild climate. It is famous for the natural beauty of its lakeside location and its proximity to the mountains. Especially stunning views of virgin Machapuchhare 6997m (also known as the Fishtail mountain). There are many places to visit in this beautiful city such as the panoramic mountain views, Phewa Lake and the Varahi Temple on its island, David's fall, Mahendra Cave, etc. Activities such as boating, fishing and canoeing can be organized on the Phewa Lake.

Manakamana Temple
A scenic and pilgrim spot and is reached by Cable Car or half day trek. This is the origin place of Shah Dynasty and Great king Prithvi Narayan shah was born there and his processes of unifying Nepal started from there about 200 years ago. The present king is the 11th generation of him. There is a great temple called Manakamana Temple. It is a famous temple where you wish to fulfill your wishes. It is located in about 90 km west from Kathmandu.
