The Everest Base camp trek is one of our most rewarding and adventurous holiday in the Himalaya kingdoms of Nepal. The Everest region is intelligibly one of the outstanding destinations for venture seekers and it offers the best opportunity to gain the experience in the Khumbu area. This Base camp trek is designed to fulfil the dream of many people of experiencing the historic route to the base of the world's highest mountain. Our service provides a fine opportunity to visit both Everest Base Camp and dazzling view point of Kalapathar (5555m) for endless views of Mt Everest along the surrounding peaks and mountains.

This itinerary is differently tailored including some remote trails along the far side of the Khumbu valley. You will have a day to explore the vibrant city of Kathmandu before flying into Lukla, the remote airstrip, to begin our trek into the Khumbu region. We follow an ancient route that will take us through farms and villages, across the valley and through the high mountain and monasteries. The views grow even more spectacular as we venture up the Dudh Kosi River to Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Khumbu region. We will spend a night next to the western valley of Thame, the popular village for famous climbers, monastery, wildlife and beautiful close-up with beautiful scenery and return to hidden village of Khunde and Khumjung. Trail leads you to Thyangboche monastery, where you will be rewarded with 360 degree spectacular views of Ama Dablam, Mt. Everest & Lhotse, Thamserku, Kwangde, Tawache, Khumbila, Kwandge along the largest Tyangboche Monastery. The route follows the Imaj valley to Dingboche and up to outstanding view point of Kalapathar and Everest base camp and return to Lukla via Phortse village.

Everest trekking region is situated in Sagarmatha National Park which is listed by world heritage sites by UNESCO, which offers the spectacular view of the highlights of higher mountains as well as friendly Sherpa people along Mt. Everest. Mountain wildlife commonly seen as musk dear, mountain goats, colourful Pheasants besides these rare species of red Panda & Snow Leopard are an another attraction for the visitors. Pine, Juniper and birch tree are the common forest here as well as colourful rhododendron flowers welcome you on spring. Monasteries can be found most of the places in bottom part, which makes you spiritual soul, and the flattering flags reps the peace of Himalaya.

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 1Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m) and Transfer to hotel:You’ll be met by our representative at the Tribhuwan International Airport after you have completed the formalities with immigration for arrival at the airport and then you will be assisted and accompanied to transfer to the hotel you are staying in. Once checked in at the hotel you may wish to relax at the hotel and later in the afternoon stroll around the streets nearby hotel, in Kathmandu, the heritage in the royal Durbar square with temples, monuments, arts and architectures. Stay in hotel in Kathmandu included bed and breakfast (B&B).
  • Day 2Kathmandu valley, (Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath, Swayambhu, and Kathmandu durbar square) Sightseeing, Stay overnight in hotel in Kathmandu B&B included:Today you shall be going for a guided tour of Kathmandu Valley. The attractions of today’s sightseeing shall include the sacred pilgrimage of Pashupatinath Temple located at the bank of holy River Bagmati among many other temples. Other important heritages are Swayambhunath Stupa (climbing over the countless steps you shall reach to a large complex with the main stupa and other whitewashed stupas, the view of Kathmandu valley and prayer flags colouring the area), Boudanath Stupa with striking eyes of the Buddha, reciting of Buddhist mantras and other cultural symbols. We then head for the architectural excellence in Patan/Kathmandu Durbar Squares. The ancient royal palace, temples, statues within, museum and historical taps, the Patan & Kathmandu Durba Squares are exhibit outstanding architectural excellence. After exploring the major historical and cultural heritages, we return to the hotel. Stay overnight in hotel in Kathmandu included B & B.
  • Day 3Fly to Lukla (2840m) and trek to Phakding (2610m) (2/3 hrs):Today we shall start the trekking in the adventurous Khumbu and equally enthralling Gokyo region as we head on for Lukla, the gateway to Everest region. In a short and scenic flight over the green hills, meandering rivers that weaves the valleys and view of the Himalayas from very close, makes the 30 minutes flight an entertaining. After landing in the Tenzing-Hillary Airport, we shall move ahead for an initial trek in the Everest region. The trail takes us out of the valley after a short climb and then descends to the village of Chheplung village past the Mani walls and to another village of Thado Koshigaon. In this traditional trade route to Tibet, trekkers shall cross the wobbly bridges over small streams and have view of Kusum Kangaru peaks to the east. Walking along the paved trails in the region, trekkers reach to Ghat village. In one of the most beautiful sections of the trail, today we have some unique settlement before reaching on to Phakding.   • Day 4Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazzar (3440m, 5/6 hrs):Today we shall head to Namche Bazaar the unofficial capital of Khumbu region. The trail from Pkakding, crossing over the suspension bridges and passing by the teahouses, small hamlets, waterfall and the first view point of Kongde Ri Peak, the trail turns around to the Benkar village. After crossing another suspension bridge, we shall reach Monjo, the village before Sagarmatha National Park where our trekking and other permits are checked by the authorities, we trek though Jorsale village and further on to reach the high suspension bridge called Hillary Bridge after which the trail turns steep until Namche. Crossing the convergence of Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi at Larja Dobhan, we embark on a steep trail till Namche with the view of Everest and other peaks. Through the dense forest dotted with rhododendron trees, unique villages and their trades as well as other unique heritages, we reach to Namhe Bazaar which is tucked on the hill with semicircular shape.   • Day 5Rest Day at Namche Bazaar:Today we shall have a rest day in this buzzing town in Khumbu region. The ancient trading hub during the trade with Tibet, Namche is also suitable for acclimatization before heading on to the higher altitudes. There are few options for the day trips in the surrounding areas, so as to help in the process of acclimatization. Hike to the Everest View Hotel, a hotel founded by Japanese national that provides marvellous views of the mighty Everest and other peaks including the beautiful Ama Dablam. Another option for day hiking is the walk to the villages of Khumjung and Khunde where the monastery in Khumjung claims to have the skull of Yeti. Near Khunde we have the hospital built by the Hillary Foundation. These unique villages provide good acclimatization for the tourists. For the trekkers preferring longer hike, Thame village is perfect fit. Namche Bazaar, itself has many things to explore. The Sherpa Museum provides information on history of mountaineering, culture and tradition, flora and fauna of the surrounding region and others to the visitors. Explore the Saturday market where locals and traders either exchange or buy and sell goods of their needs. Explore the rich Namche village and return back to the hotel.   • Day 6Trek to Thame village (3,800m):Today, we’ll head toward the western part of Khumbu called Thame village same elevation as Namche for another acclimatization day as well during the trek can be seen most scenic view of Surrounding mountain and Himalayan wildlife. Thame valley is most popular for mountain climbers and monastery itself. After check in we can visit the monastery and surrounding valley and overnight at teahouse.   • Day 7Trek to Khumjung village (3,790m) via Khunde:After stroll around Thame trek back to Syangboche airstrip passing through the Thamo village and superb scenery of the beautiful Mountains and after few hundred meter climb down to Khunde Hospital running by Sir Edmund Hillary, which is the biggest hospital in surrounding areas and descent to Khumjung village for overnight at lodge after 4-5 hrs walk.   • Day 8Trek to Tyangboche (3,867m):After stroll around the Khumjung area, today we refreshed and fairly easy to walk further on. Our walk follows on the gradual downhill up to Sanasa with overlooking magnificent view of the great giant snow peaks from Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kwangde peak. We descend to Imjatse River at Phungithanga, a small settlement with couple of teahouses. The trail leads uphill through the forested path of silver fir, blue pines, rhododendron and some few magnolia and birch trees get to Tyangboche after total 4-5 hrs walk. This is one of the most beautiful place in the Mountains, the first thing that comes to your eye is the big Monastery, then the large field with campsites and teahouses, lodges beneath the towering majestic beautiful peak Ama Dablam, Everest, Mt.   • Day 9Tyangboche to Dingboche (4,358m):Today start our trek with pleasant walk and descend through a forest of birch, fir, juniper and rhododendron and coming to lovely spot at Deboche 3,650 m with magnificent view of mountains and past the long prayer mani wall, the path is gradual up to the Pangboche village, from here onwards the lush vegetation and tree lines vanishes, we enter the Imjatse valley to the Dingboche after 4-5 hrs walk. The great view of the mighty peaks of Ama Dablam, Nuptse and Lhotse with view of the eastern snow capped mountains including the Island peak or Imjatse 6,189m, which is a popular peak amongst all the trekking peaks in Nepal. Dingboche is a beautiful patchwork of field enclosed by stone walls, protecting the crops of barley, buckwheat and potatoes from the cold winds and grazing animals. Dingboche has about more than ten teahouses and it is also the gateway to Chukung and farther beyond for the most challenging traverses towards Makalu area and Hinko Valley via Sherpani col 6,100m and Amphu Laptsa pass 5,780m.   • Day 10Acclimatization day at Dingboche: Today we rest for acclimatization at Dingboche valley, you may have full day rest or there are some places where can go for a day walk like trek to Chhukung 4,730m is worthwhile which takes approx. 3-4 hours from Dingboche, towards east within the Imjatse Valley, although the trek is gradual, however you can feel the thin air as the altitude gains slowly coming towards Chhukung. At Chhukung, there are few teahouses overlooking superb view of the snow capped peaks and glaciers of Lhotse, Ama-Dablam and Imja glacier, Chhukung valley is the last settlement in eastern Khumbu region.   • Day 11Dingboche to Lobuche (4,928m):Today the trail diverts towards north, the path is gradual up for about an hour as you come to a mani-prayer Stupa, from here the trail is gentle on the hard meadow looking down below Pheriche village and today’s walk offers beautiful view of the scenic mountains. After a pleasant walk through the ridge will reach at Thukla, an hour steep up brings you to the top, where you can view Mt. Pumori and other peaks west of Everest, the spot here is good place for a few minutes break after the strenuous climb, close to this spot you can also see a number of memorial of the unfortunate climbers monuments, who died in expeditions around the mountain of this region.   • Day 12Trek to Gorakshep (5,160m) & hike to Kalapatthar (5,550m): Today, we’ll be walk in the morning towards the Gorakshep. After 2 hrs walking in a windy and rocky path will arrive at Gorekshep for our overnight. This trails offer the wonderful view with Mt. Pumori, Mt. Nuptse, other peaks, Everest Base Camp, Kalapathar and below the Gorekshep valley including top of the world. After hotel check in our journey continue steep climb to the top after 2 hour walk on our pace. After reaching the top, you will feel beaming as you achieve the moment that you been dreaming, since the beginning of the journey. Top of Kalapathar is a small rocky peak on the southwest ridge of Mt. Pumori, the view from here is beyond imagination as the Everest looks amazing, the panoramic view from this spot is something to cherish, and you feel its worth the hard climb up to here and to feel at the top of the world, and can be seen to the south Khumbu glacier sweeps below you, and you can also see the Everest Base camp down below on the moraine of Khumbu glacier and lot of picturesque scenery.   • Day 13Hike to Everest base camp (5,316m): After breakfast our adventure continues towards Everest Base Camp and to the Khumbu Ice-fall, the path from Gorekshep can be misleading, follow the lead Sherpa, every year the trail changes due to the movements of the glacier, the walk is quite strenuous due to the high altitude and thin air, the walk passes through over rocky dunes and moraine and streams, till you reach the base camp. Everest Base Camp is lively with commotion during the high expedition season. It takes 2-3 hrs to get to base camp and after a grand time here retrace the journey back to Gorekshep.   • Day 14Trek back to Pheriche (4,200m): This morning after breakfast we walk fairly easy down to Pheriche for the overnight. It takes 4-5 hrs walk down and during the walk may get a wind and better to start early. Pheriche has Himalayan Rescue Association and can visit their anyway after 3 pm.   • Day 15Trek to Phortse village (3,840m): The walk today will be easy heading downhill to a lower elevation to Pangboche and from where the path split to Phortse village with a pleasant walk. 2 hrs walk to get a beautiful village to Phortse which is quite out of touristic areas but can be found some lodges with beneath the towering majestic beautiful peak Ama Dablam, Mt. Lhotse and Lhotse Shar towards north east and more peaks all around you. Machharmo & Kyajo Ri peak can be seen beautifully from this village and the best Himalayan wildlife can be seen from your hotel windows as Pheasant, Musk deer and Thar.   • Day 16Trek to Namche (3,440m): Trek down to Phortsethanga a small settlement with couple of teahouses. The trail leads downhill through the forested path of silver fir, blue pines, rhododendron and some few magnolia and birch trees and with a great memories and after crossing the local wooden bridge over the Dudh Koshi river trek onwards to steep climb to Mongla Hill, one of the beautiful view point of Everest Himalayan range and descent to the Sanasa and re-track to Namche bazzar for the overnight stay after 5-6 hrs walk.   • Day 17Trek to Lukla (2,800m): After a long walk today we’ll have long and last day trek back to Lukla, Firstly we descend the long way before cross the bridge and further walk to Monju and ten Phakding for lunch. We trek back with enjoying the lush green scenery around and passing through the incredible mountain scenery and local Sherpa village.   • Day 18Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu:The flight time to Kathmandu, are schedule for morning normally, because of the wind in the afternoon, sometime the flight time can be delayed due to bad weather and other reason beyond our command. Anyway we will fly back to Kathmandu and your guide will transfer to hotel. You may have time to relax after long journey and take back your breath and rest at your hotel included bed and breakfast.
